Scattered Disc Objects play: West African, alt blues, country and experimental. Musical instruments utilised include: electric guitar, kora, dobro, lap steel, oud and drumkit.
The recording showcases: two Hendrix tunes, 'Machine Gun' and 'Voodoo Chile', Peter Green's 'Albatross' and two West African style Kora pieces. The title track 'It's All Changed' utilises sparse Kora, interspersed with textural, non-time keeping drums and there is a hats off to indie 'Slowcore' via the track 'Mirror', which at the climax features flamenco style rasgueados cranked up through naturally distorted vintage 1950's Fender tweed amps.
Yes the project is diverse but sincere expression, effortless performance and sonic detail make it all work.
It’s All Changed charts the duo's musical journey since their 2013 recording, ‘Before and After Pluto’ (Released on French Indie Label ‘Commission 45’), concentrating on the interplay between the warm voices and pure sonics to make for an intimate and welcoming listen.
